Hi!
My name is Milly Mackenzie and I paint and draw bespoke, custom pet portraits of beloved pets, as well as paintings of wildlife and farm animals.
Animals have always been a huge part of my life. In addition to my animal art, I share my home with two cats, Troy & Abed, and work part time as a veterinary nurse.
The medium I use most frequently in my art is acrylic paint on canvas or paper. Acrylic gives me a range of vibrant colours, without long drying times; acrylic on paper can be framed and canvas simply hung straight onto the wall.
My work has been exhibited at the Midlands Art Centre & Anchor Gallery in Birmingham. In 2020 & 2021 my paintings, Aoudad and Sleeping Lions, were selected for the Sketch for Survival exhibition and charity auction, alongside the work of renowned wildlife artists and celebrity donors. In 2021 my painting Sleeping Lions made the shortlist of 12.
